I graduated from Cardiff University with a First in English long before mobile phones were invented and went on to study Anglo-Saxon magic as a postgraduate. I always had an obsession with early pen and paper role play games like Dungeons and Dragons. Moving from from writing games to writing novels seemed a good idea when people graduated to playing computer games. Fantasy and science fiction are the one true way for answering the great "what if" questions which have puzzled mankind since ... Well, since they first decided to come down from the trees. I  love to examine the effects of extraordinary circumstances on extremely ordinary people and ask questions about what this reality business really is anyhow. Just because things are the way they are does not mean it is right or it will always be that way. I have been living in sunny Spain for two years with my wife and three mischievous cats.
